Pulp Project: Sustainable Design for the Medical Industry

As part of my design journey, I worked on the Pulp Project, where I was tasked with creating a product using Kraft Paper or Food Grade Pulp, with a focus on the medical industry. The challenge was to explore how pulp-based materials could offer an environmentally sustainable alternative to traditional materials like plastic or metal, particularly in single-use medical products.

I considered how pulp can be biodegradable and cost-effective, reducing environmental impact while maintaining functionality. The design also needed to be compatible with production methods like injection molding or blow molding, ensuring it could be efficiently manufactured at scale. This project allowed me to think creatively about sustainable solutions for the medical field while addressing both practicality and eco-consciousness.
