Moksha - Future Economies

For this project, we are tasked with designing a futuristic death and funeral service product, envisioned for use in 2050. The project focuses on creating a product that aligns with emerging trends, societal shifts, and technological advancements, while addressing the emotional, cultural, and practical needs surrounding death and funerals.

Our group, Moksha, takes inspiration from the Hindu festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, where the focus is on transformation and the cycle of life. We aim to integrate these themes into our product, emphasizing spiritual peace, cultural significance, and sustainable practices in the context of end-of-life rituals.

Our design approach will reflect the idea of Moksha—the liberation of the soul—by creating a product or service that symbolizes renewal, respect for traditions, and future-forward thinking. It will focus on incorporating sustainable materials, innovative technology, and personalized experiences that meet the evolving needs of society in 2050, while maintaining deep respect for cultural practices and honoring the deceased in a meaningful, transformative way.
